Marshall Mountain

Dual Slalom Course, Marshall Mountain

Marshall Mountain is your County Park, the only space in Missoula with purpose built, directional mountain bike trails

Marshall Mountain has a long history of recreation- from it's ski-area beginnings in the mid-20th century, to becoming the home of the Missoula XC race course in 2010, to The Nature Conservancy's acquisition of the upper mountain in 2015, transfer to Five Valleys Land Trust ownership, and the subsequent construction of bike-specific mountain bike trails by MTB Missoula (now the Missoula Mountain Bike Coalition).

Now a County Park the development of new mountain bike trails continues! In 2024 we completed a new easier uphill trail called "Izzy Up!" (a nod to our friends who help facilitate the transition to county ownership) and in 2025 we opened the regions first adaptive friendly downhill trail "Mission to M.A.R.S." as well as the region's first sanctioned double-black trail "Marshall Arts."

We've got a lot more in store with 8 new trails planned! In 2026 we plan to bring Hello Kitty all the way to the base, develop a progressive skills park at the base, and get started on a new black diamond trail. We need your help to make it happen!
