Meet our new director, John Stegmaier

ree

We're very excited to finally introduce our new Executive Director, John Stegmaier. After a two-month national search and many interviews with other very qualified and impressive candidates, he's accepted the job.

John's passion for singletrack, motivation toward community service, and long history of work on public lands and recreation made him an ideal candidate. John comes most recently from the Missoula County Parks, Trails, and Open Lands Program, where he helped manage a system of 80 parks and 50 miles of multi-use pathways, but his trail experience goes back many years to summers spent leading trail crews for the SCA after college.

From digging the dirt, to administering grant programs, to negotiating partnership agreements and planning trail projects, he's got the breadth of experience to carry MTB Missoula forward into our next chapter. His background in the land management side of things ensures that he understands how user groups like MTB Missoula can work effectively with partner organizations and agencies toward durable solutions for trail access and development.

The Board of MTB Missoula (and the Trails Director) extend our warmest welcome to John. He'll get started in early June, and we must say we're looking forward to it!
